About the Facility:
The Amman East Power Plant, developed by AES Corporation at a cost of $300 million, is a 370-MW gas-fired facility that began commercial operations in 2008. As Jordan’s first independent power plant, it plays a key strategic role in reducing national dependency on imported oil and supporting the country’s transition toward a more balanced and sustainable energy mix.
