Sheraton Grand Doha Resort & Convention Hotel

Location: Doha, Qatar

The Sheraton Grand Doha, often referred to as the “Pyramid of the Gulf,” is one of Qatar’s most iconic architectural landmarks. Designed by renowned American architect William Pereira and inaugurated in 1982, the hotel’s distinctive pyramid form—drawing inspiration from Middle Eastern ziggurats and modernist design—made it one of the earliest structurally innovative contemporary buildings in the region.

Constructed on reclaimed land at the start of the Doha Corniche, the Sheraton Grand Doha marked the first step in the development of what is now West Bay, establishing itself as a symbol of modernity and progress. Internally, the hotel features a dramatic multi-storey atrium, known as the Majlis, visible from all floors and reflecting traditional Islamic and Qatari principles of inward-focused, private social spaces.

DEOS BMS Implementation – Bakery & Dining Area

As part of ongoing upgrades within this landmark property, the ground-floor bakery and dining area has been equipped with a DEOS Building Management System (BMS) to ensure effective air quality management and precise cooling control for both kitchen and guest-facing environments.

The solution is implemented using:

  • DEOS OPEN EMS control hardware for accurate HVAC and ventilation control
  • OPENview operator workstation for intuitive monitoring and centralized climate management

This DEOS-based implementation ensures stable indoor conditions, improved thermal comfort, and reliable operation within a demanding hospitality environment, while maintaining the operational standards expected of a world-renowned luxury hotel.
