The Aspire Zone Foundation (AZF), also known as Doha Sports City, is a world-class 2.5 square kilometer sports and lifestyle complex in Doha, Qatar. Established in 2003, Aspire Zone is dedicated to achieving sports excellence and integrates elite training facilities, sports medicine, research, education, and large-scale event infrastructure.

Aspire Academy for athlete education and development

Aspire Zone served as a key training and operational hub during the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ and continues to host major international sporting events, reinforcing Qatar’s position as a global sports destination.

Within this prestigious complex, a DEOS system partner implemented a REGIN-based control solution for selected facilities, specifically covering two zones of changing room areas. The deployment includes approximately 10 DDC control panels, managing HVAC controls, environmental monitoring, and local operational requirements.

The system is based on the REGIN EXO platform, equipped with local HMI interfaces for on-site operation and monitoring. All data and system status are successfully integrated into the central command and control center, enabling centralized supervision while maintaining local control flexibility.

The Sheraton Grand Doha, often referred to as the “Pyramid of the Gulf,” is one of Qatar’s most iconic architectural landmarks. Designed by renowned American architect William Pereira and inaugurated in 1982, the hotel’s distinctive pyramid form—drawing inspiration from Middle Eastern ziggurats and modernist design—made it one of the earliest structurally innovative contemporary buildings in the region.

Constructed on reclaimed land at the start of the Doha Corniche, the Sheraton Grand Doha marked the first step in the development of what is now West Bay, establishing itself as a symbol of modernity and progress. Internally, the hotel features a dramatic multi-storey atrium, known as the Majlis, visible from all floors and reflecting traditional Islamic and Qatari principles of inward-focused, private social spaces.
