Stefan Plueth
Founder and President DEOS Middle East
Stefan Plüth is a seasoned entrepreneur, technologist, and innovator, and the Founder of DEOS Worldwide. He currently serves as Founder and President of DEOS Middle East, where he leads the company’s international expansion and long-term strategic growth.
Stefan’s passion for technology began at an early age, driven by hands-on experimentation, innovation, and a deep curiosity for engineering. He left his hometown to pursue higher education in Karlsruhe, where he studied under one of Germany’s leading experts in control engineering. As a graduate industrial engineer, he developed strong expertise in control systems and economics, along with proficiency in multiple programming languages—forming the foundation for his future work in intelligent automation.
He began his professional career in Karlsruhe with a competitor of SAP and later became Commercial Director of a mechanical engineering company in Landshut. During this period, Stefan developed a strong appreciation for southern Germany’s culture, the Alps, skiing, and an open, international lifestyle—an influence that continues to shape his outlook today. His leadership approach was strongly influenced by a mentor who became a lasting role model.
Around the turn of the millennium, Stefan joined the family business in Rheine after careful consideration. At the age of forty, he took over the control systems and plant engineering division and began shaping a bold vision: the full digital transformation of building automation. Under his leadership, DEOS became one of the first companies in the industry to integrate modern IT and advanced intelligence into building automation—an approach initially met with skepticism by established market players, who later followed with similar solutions.
As Founder and CEO, Stefan led DEOS from its European roots to become an internationally active technology company, establishing operations and partnerships across global markets. A strong believer in technological independence, he championed the development of core technologies entirely in-house—a philosophy that continues to define DEOS products and solutions today. His foresight and engineering-driven leadership have positioned DEOS at the forefront of intelligent, software-centric building automation.
Beyond his entrepreneurial journey, Stefan has a deep passion for vintage cars and boating. He is also a dedicated collector of precious minerals. His interest in mineralogy began at the age of ten and has evolved into a lifelong pursuit spanning more than five decades. He is particularly known for his expertise in fluorite specimens, with a special focus on exceptional varieties from Spain and other regions worldwide. Years of field collecting across Spanish mineral localities have given him a deep understanding of fluorite crystallography, color variations, and formation conditions, reflected in the exceptional quality of his collection.
