The General Traffic Department in Kuwait, under the Ministry of Interior (MOI), oversees vehicle registration, driver licensing, and traffic violation management, providing services both online and at local branches, including evening operations.

Data Centre & Critical Infrastructure Monitoring

A comprehensive monitoring and control system has been deployed to ensure high availability and operational resilience for the department’s critical IT and network infrastructure. The scope includes:

  • Environmental Monitoring
    • Third-party Temperature & Humidity sensors covering 150 network racks
    • Third-party water leak detection systems
  • Mechanical Systems
    • HVAC equipment monitoring
  • Electrical & Power Systems
    • Power Distribution Units (PDUs), UPS systems
    • Fire alarm panels
    • Diesel generator and fuel tank monitoring
    • Electrical distribution boards (MLTP, ATS, MSB, DB)

System Architecture & Platform

The infrastructure is controlled and monitored using the DEOS Building Management System (BMS), featuring:

  • OPEN EMS 4100 Redundancy system – providing high-precision monitoring and control with zero downtime
  • OPENweb BMS/SCADA – enterprise-level visualization and centralized management

All equipment is fully integrated via open protocols for seamless interoperability:

  • BACnet
  • Modbus
  • SNMP

This implementation guarantees continuous availability, precise control, and proactive alarm management, ensuring uninterrupted operations for one of Kuwait’s most critical government services.
